Admission to the Conservatory

To register for admissions to the Conservatory, you will need to follow three steps:

  1. Register on the Esse3 portal
  2. Submit your application for the Admission on Esse3 (by May 15th).
    You need to select the course you would like to join and pay the admission fees (36,04 euro)
  3. Participate in the admission test (scheduled for July).
    Examination programs are available on the website

The registration procedure for Admission is online and will take you 10-20 minutes.

Before starting, prepare these documents on your computer/tablet/smartphone:

  • Your ID card (or another valid document) in pdf, jpeg, or png format;
  • A copy of your high school diploma and/or degree (if you have them) in pdf, jpeg, or png format;;
  • An artistic and musical studies resume that will be evaluated upon admission.
  1. Register on Esse3 (the students portal)
    Watch this video or follow these steps:
    • Click on the menu at the top right and click on Registration;
    • Follow the steps and enter your identity document;
    • At the end, you will receive a username and password. Keep them safe: you will need them for your career at the Conservatory (transcript, exams, electronic register, fees, etc.)
    • Log in to Esse3: click on the menu and then on Login (remember to choose Conservatorio di Musica di Stato Arturo Toscanini)
  2. Sign up for the Admission Competition on Esse3 (by May 15th)

    • Participate in the admission test (scheduled for July)
      The exam programs are available on the conservatory’s website, click on the Didactics menu then click on Courses.
    • Click on the menu at the top right and click on Secretariat, then on Admission Test;
    • Follow the steps and enter the required documents;
      If you have not yet obtained your Diploma, you will still need to enter the details of the school you are attending and indicate the year of completion as 2024
    • Pay the fees using this method:
      • click on the invoice number of 30.00 euros (admission fee) and Pay through the PagoPa (pagoPA is the digital platform that enables payments to the public administration)
      • pay the enrollment fee of 6.04 euros via bank transfer made out to: Agenzia delle Entrate – Centro operativo di Pescara – Tasse scolastiche – IBAN: IT45 R0760103200000000001016 – BIC: BPPIITRRXXX

Educational Offer

The Arturo Toscanini Music Conservatory offers a comprehensive path for music students:

  • Frep courses (first-level pre-academic) for those starting to study music;
  • Propaedeutic courses, preparatory for academic courses
  • Academic courses of first and second level, equivalent to three-year and two-year degrees, to become professional musicians.i

Tuba Bass, Lyric Singing, Guitar, Clarinet, Double Bass, Horn, Euphonium, Flute, Chamber Music, Piano, Trumpet, Percussion Instruments, Trombone, Viola, Violin and Cello, Ensemble Music (two-year).

Jazz

Electric Bass, Jazz Drums and Percussion, Jazz Singing, Jazz Guitar, Jazz Piano, Jazz Saxophone, Jazz Trumpet.

Pop Rock

Pop Rock Electric Bass, Pop Rock Drums and Percussion, Pop Rock Singing, Pop Rock Guitar, Pop Rock Piano and Electronic Keyboards.

Admission Programs

If you are an international student from outside the European Union (Extra-UE) and require a visa, you must undergo the pre-enrollment process. This process is applicable to all Italian Higher Education Institutions and is solely for visa acquisition purposes. It must be completed exclusively through the UNIVERSITALY portal.

Additionally, Chinese students enrolled in the Turandot program are subject to the same pre-enrolment procedure. However, for these students, pre-enrolment is valid for the following academic year.

Upon submission of your application, the institution will review your request along with the provided documents. If any documents are missing or incomplete, or if your application cannot be accepted, you will receive an email requesting further information or explaining the reasons for rejection.

If your application is positively assessed, the Italian Embassy/Consulate will be automatically notified. Subsequently, the visa procedure will proceed after the necessary verifications.

If you have passed the admission test, you will be able to enroll at the Toscanini Conservatory.

If you are a student from another region, a working student, a student enrolled in a high school or another university or conservatory, you can benefit from advantages to attend remote lessons. Read more.

To attend courses at the Conservatory, fees and contributions are required, which vary depending on the level and include various items.

For a complete overview, you can consult the Fee Regulations for the Academic Year 2023-2024; the new regulations will be approved by the Conservatory’s Board of Directors in mid-April 2024.

*It is important to have the ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) and the ISPE (Equivalent Patrimonial Situation Indicator) of your family unit. If you are a foreign student, you will need the ISEE PARIFICATO, that means certified and recognised. To obtain it, turn to a CAAF (Authorized Fiscal Assistance Center) and request the ISEE Certification for Facilitated Benefits for the Right to University Study.

For students at the Toscanini Conservatory, there are some benefits, reductions, and scholarships available:
