Diploma Accademico di Primo Livello di Trombone (Laurea triennale)
Training Objectives.
After completing the degree programme, graduates of First Level in Trombone will have developed technical skills and specific knowledge to such an extent that they will be able to plan and develop their own artistic ideas. To reach these goals, as well as to get the ability to interact within mixed musical groups, students will master the most representative repertoire – including ensemble repertoire and piano accompaniment – and the related performance practices; the aural perceptive and memorisation skills as well as the acquisition of specific and cross-sectional knowledge pertaining to the various compositional, analytical, and structural aspects of music
emotional and postural control techniques; thorough knowledge of stylistic, historical, and general aesthetic aspects related to one’s specific field of study. Furthermore, with reference to the specificity of the individual courses, the student must possess adequate skills related to the field of improvisation. It is also an educational objective of the course to acquire skills in music information technology as well as those related to a second community language
Access qualifications
High School Diploma or other equivalent qualification obtained in a non-Italian school and recognized.
Entrance Examination
The first test tends to test the candidate’s instrumental/vocal skills and musical maturity, the second test the candidate’s theoretical knowledge and
basic musical culture.
FIRST TEST
1) Presentation of at least 3 studies from the following repertoire:
S. PERETTI, (parte 11) Studi melodici nei toni maggiori e minori
C. KOPPRASCHJ 60 studi op. 6, parte I
studio a scelta del candidato che preveda l’uso almeno della chiave di basso e tenore
2) Presentation of one or more pieces for instrument and piano, or for instrument and orchestra (piano rid.) or for instrument only chosen by the candidate, of a minimum duration of 15 minutes (including single movements) taken from the fundamental repertoire.
In the case of more than one song, one can be

3) Extemporaneous reading of a short passage assigned by the commission.
The committee reserves the right to discontinue the test at any time.
SECOND TEST
1) The candidate will have to demonstrate mastery in the use of notation codes, in the knowledge of the fundamental elements of music theory and in the exercise of the fundamental skills related to listening and rhythmic and singing reading.
2) Assessment by oral interview of basic musical skills in Elements of Harmony and Analysis and History of Music.
MUSICAL, GENERAL AND MOTIVATIONAL
INTERVIEWNotes: The Commission has the right, for the purpose of evaluation, to select a part of the programme presented and to listen again and/or to interrupt the performance.
Candidates already holding the relevant licenses obtained from Higher Music Education Institutions under Law 508/99 are exempt from test no. 4.

Training Objectives.
Upon graduation, Level II Academic Graduates in Trombone will have achieved: artistic personality and high professional level that enables them to realize and express their artistic concepts; a good knowledge of instrumental/interpretive styles and techniques related to them, of historical as well as contemporary repertoire such that they can be produced in a wide range of different contexts; ability: to interpret with a figure distinctive and personal music from the historical as well as contemporary repertoire; to adequately contribute with artistic professionalism both as a soloist and in chamber groups and orchestral ensembles; to to further and independently develop one’s aesthetic tendencies in a particular area of specialization; to relate knowledge with practical skills to strengthen one’s artistic development; to represent in writing as well as verbally one’s artistic concepts; to undertake in an organized way artistic projects in new or unfamiliar contexts, including in staff with experts from other artistic areas, in the context of musical theater or world productive. optionally among the elective subjects, the 24 CFAs essential for participation in the Competition for Teaching in Schools; adequate postural and emotional control techniques; adequate skills in musical computing as well as those related to a second community language
Access qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or a first-level academic degree or a Conservatory degree together with an upper secondary school diploma, or other qualification obtained abroad and recognized as suitable. It is also necessary that the preparation acquired be consistent with and appropriate for the second-level course.
Conditional admission may be sought by applicants who plan to earn the required degrees by the February-March session of the relevant academic year.
Entrance Examination
Possible pre-selection: performance of a piece of the candidate’s choice with a maximum duration of 10′.
Practical test (the Board has the right to hear all or part of the presented program): performance, preferably from memory, of a solo concert program of the candidate’s choice lasting about 30 minutes, of a difficulty consistent with or greater than that presented for the 1st Level Academic Diploma examination, including compositions from different historical periods The candidate may include a composition for chamber ensemble in the above program.
Reading test: extemporaneous performance of a piece assigned by the committee (maximum time allowed before performance: 2 times the duration of the piece).
Oral test: the interview will focus on the training already undertaken and any professional orientations that have already emerged during the last years of training with particular reference to the interests of the specific address.
